ThinkSocial Awards: One Tama (One Right Action) "Young Filipinos taking action together"

VOTE
Name: One Tama (One Right Action)
Nominated Category: Collaboration
Area: Action, Advocacy, Volunteerism
About:
Started as a collaboration between Duyan ng Giting (Cradle of Valor) and Idea!s Creative, two Filipino youth-led organizations, One Tama challenges youth in the Philippines to take on challenges of positive action — then sharing that action with as many people as possible, thus aiming for the biggest impact possible.
Description:
Primarily geared toward youth empowerment in the Philippines, where young people comprise more than half of the 90 million population, One Tama is also open to members of the Filipino diaspora.
Actions — anything from promising to volunteer in times of disaster to blogging about why you’re proud to be Filipino — are posted on the One Tama web site. Housed in little orange boxes (with a one-click “SHARE” button in the corner), the different actions show how many times they have been shared; how many people are doing them; and how many people have completed the action.
According to the running count at the top of the One Tama site, currently there are 192 shared actions, 3591 people doing action, and 1560 actions completed. And along with the posted actions, One Tama also sponsors Action Days, where young people gather and perform a particular action at the same time.
On the One Tama web site, the “About Us” reads, “We no longer need to wait for good things to happen in our country. We can begin today by inspiring one another for positive action …. The road opens at our feet.”
Being that one of the founding organizations (Idea!s Creatives) is an enterprise that provides multimedia and creative communications solutions for campaigns, it makes sense that One Tama is tapped into multiple social media vehicles. Besides the interactive web site, One Tama keeps a Facebook account and group (where you can also check for updates and events related to the campaign), a regular blog and action e-mail newsletters; and now has video clips of different actions shown in shopping malls in the Philippines, thanks to a recent partnership with a video advertising company.
